Did You Know Any "Genuine"" Old School Anointed?

growing up in scotland in the 1970s in scotland the anointed were few and far between, but we had one old dude in our cong who claimed to be one of the anointed.

in the days when it was taken seriously.. i'd be curious how you viewed them.

thing is, he wasn't an elder, or even a ministerial servant, just a plain old publisher.. but he was revered like he had a hotline to jesus.. the other week i was talking to a friend of similar age to me but who hung around the wt a lot longer than i did, and he just commented "oh him... he was a doddery old fool who used to just sit and piss himself.

NUMBER 6 we had 8 of them in our congregation back in the mid 70's. Three of them knew Russell personally. Out of the three one brother worked with Rutherford on the sound cars. Most of them did not like Rutherford but loved Russell. The other five came in the early 30's just before the big announcement of the great crowd. One of them actually died in my arms at the kingdom hall. We were standing at the back of the hall talking to her when she had a massive stroke. I grab her as she fell to the floor. I use to joke I could feel her spirit going through me as she went to heaven.

These old timers I knew for the most part were very nice with lots of history and interesting stories. Nothing like the newbies anointed today. Still Totally ADD

this article has all the trappings of wts apocalyptic theology, doom and destruction for "the world" salvation into paradise for the faithful .a schedule of future events is described thus :.

1) a worldwide proclamation of peace and security.

2) the destruction of "babylon the great"......it confidently names the characters from this visionary biblical reference, without any supporting reasons.. 3)the nations will then , as gog of magog , attack the wts and the members .

BluesBrothers it's the same old, same old stuff they have been saying since I was a kid and I am 65 years old now. I like how there is a uncertainty on how they will get the message out. I think they are opening the door on using more videos and less talking. Becoming more of a televangelist organization. Thanks for sharing. Still Totally ADD

the serpent gave greetings and spoke in foreign tongues....a brother was passing by, attracted by the commotion, he went to the house to see what was happening.

as soon as he entered the room the serpent stopped talking.

God works in mysterious ways. Like using the wt. as the only true religion. When I was a kid I was scared to death about demons because of stories like this. They were like communist hiding behind every tree. Lol. Still Totally ADD

Is There Anything You Can Be Thankful For Since leaving The JW`s.

i can ,the people i had influence over in joining the religion.,but have now left the religion.granted it`s family,except for one.. those that were active jw`s and have now left :.

my wife .

my two sons ,and a wife of one .

I am thankful for my wife, youngest son's family, freedom to think for myself, our new friends and not having to wear a neck tie 4 times a week. Still Totally ADD

Does anyone remember?

so back when the borganization took over the congregations and their money when "forgiving" the loans for the mortgages, i seem to remember there was a congregation that stood up to them.

it didn't work, of course, but they caused quite a stir.

does anyone remember what congregation it was or any details where i could search and find more about it on here?

I may be wrong but wasn't there one in TX. Were they all quit the borg and sold their hall and the wt. Sued for the money and lost. Still Totally ADD

i was just looking at some happy holidays / xmas cards some of us sent each other at the close of 2016 of the cards i received only a few of them have your jwn name on them ,the other `s gave me their real names which i cant reveal here.. however this post is for everybody that is on this forum not just to the few i`m referring to.just to clarify .. and i was going to send greetings to you all this year for 2020.. one was from hawaii.

When was it time for you to walk away from your congregation meetings and the WTBTS?

the basic virtue for a human being is to be true to yourself – the integrity of thought, emotion, and action.. .

ten years ago ( after 32 years as a jehovah's witness), i finally decided that my own mental sanity and being true to myself was more important than attending congregation meetings and serving the watchtower society.

i stopped (years before) field service, the ministry school, answering at the watchtower studies, missed numerous meetings and walked in minutes before the meetings started and left after the closing prayer, i knew it was time to leave.

Amen Biahi amen. I think of all the things as a child I was not allowed to do. Play little league baseball, school football and not being a normal child. Because of this reglious isolation of abuse and a born-in for me it took along time to wake up. But the straw that broke the camel's back for me was the lack of emotional support by the congregation when I was dealing with my mother's mental disease. After being told by the P.O. it was my problem and I was not going to get any help from the elders that was it for me. That Wednesday night in January of 2011 I walk out of the kingdom hall and never came back. Still Totally ADD

Lack of zeal

i hear rumbling about the rank and file not having the same zeal they had when new.. lets see: door to door at the time least likely to find someone.

It's like this. This last holiday I traveled 500 miles to be with my family. When I first started the trip I was zealous knowing it would only take 9 hours to get there but after almost 14 hours caused by delays from heavy traffic I was tired and did not want to drive anymore. This is how many feel now in the wt. cult. Still Totally ADD
